Quick Start: reporting a new fire

If you seen an unreported incident, call 911

Once you have called 911, open Smoke Point and follow the steps below.

Step 1

Tap the “+” button in the bottom left.

Step 2

Tap “Take reading”.

Step 3

Calibrate the phone compass by waving your hand in a figure-8. Tap “Remind me how” to see a visual guide.

Step 4

Center the smoke column in the crosshairs, and tap the checkmark.

Step 5

Answer the question: if you’re not truly away from cars, fences, buildings, and so-on, tap “No”.

Step 6

Be sure to make the new incident public, and tap “Continue”. You’re done!
